Alyx is nothing but a VR puzzle showcase. Boring ass simple tedious puzzles with horribly mismatched action scenes. 90% boring repetitive puzzles and 10% you vs heavily armored enemies while you have pathetic weapons. The fact of how outgunned you are makes winning a gunfight break all immersion for me. Gordon and Alyx meet Barney; Gordon and Alyx agree to create a diversion for Barney so he can move citizens to the Technical Trainstation. Gordon and Alyx fight through a hospital. Gordon, Alyx and Barney successfully get to the train station. Barney and the surviving citizens leave City 17 first.
You can check out all of this and more for yourself in Half-Life: Alyx - Final Hours, which is available on Steam for £7.19/€8.19/$9.99. A quick warning, though - it's full of Half-Life: Alyx spoilers, so best avoided if you haven't had a chance to play it yet.
However i could imagine that asgards wrath and half life alyx benefit from more than 8gb of ram. In the worst case you can refund the game if you played less than 2 hours and purchased it within the last 2 weeks without any trouble on steam and the oculus store.
I was so excited for this game, I just got my oculus and popped $60 for Half Life Alyx. At first the game is breath taking. You're in the city, you see giant bio-mech type creatures. The characters are charming and funny.
HL is different, it has a long runing history, with some areas that are scary (ravenhold in half life 2 is an example). I played alyx on the most easy setting and that helped me a lot going thru it. You feel really powerful and can go through the game without dying (or maybe just a few times once you meet Jeff).
